About 5 years ago I decided to rewatch our first videotape (the one with Dumbo on it) and wrote about it here: http://www.alligatorjuice.com/tv/firstvideo.html

I remember watching the Cosby Show series finale about a hundred times! I probably even had it memorized at one point. o_Omollyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12222608706060800549noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5179791298991260260.post-87960460589700037562010-09-25T14:24:20.104-07:002010-09-25T14:24:20.104-07:00I should say that I think your dad actually explai...I should say that I think your dad actually explained to us in scientific terms how it was not possible to do the things that Kevin does without causing much more bodily harm. He was right, of course, but that didn't stop us from enjoying it. And I still love that movie.

Yes! The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe got watched a ton in our house too. And a few Cosby episodes. We had so many VHS tapes, Geoff made a catalog of everything taped on them. Sadly, I think almost all are gone for good now. I've saved a few that I just couldn't part with...Emily Blairhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02191866232259980517noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5179791298991260260.post-38016788443953667262010-09-25T10:10:19.660-07:002010-09-25T10:10:19.660-07:00Ha! I don't remember him telling us that, but I do remember in subsequent viewings, my parents always cringing at that part.

I had to go back up & add The Lion, The Witch, and the Warddrobe to my list at the beginning of the post, because I think that one got rewatched more than anything.

I love Ferris Bueller! But I didn't see it until I was 19. Because of my limited viewing choices as a kid, I had to take it upon myself to go back and find/watch all those 80s/90s movies I never got to see -- as an adult.mollyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12222608706060800549noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5179791298991260260.post-82452572299883377952010-09-25T09:41:58.605-07:002010-09-25T09:41:58.605-07:00I love this. I remember seeing Home Alone with your family in the theater, and I remember your dad making sure that we realized it was not okay to hit people in the face with hot irons, etc. when we left the theater. :)

Re: the foreign scenes in the Goonies. That's how Ferris Bueller is for me. I watched it SO MANY times on VHS taped off of TV, I know all the lines by heart with their censored language...I couldn't believe some of the stuff on the "real" movie when I finally saw it years later.Emily Blairhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02191866232259980517noreply@blogger.com
